Background and Early Career Unnisan Bakunda started his journey in the rally world as a codriver, lending his talents to Arthur Blick’s team from 2013 to 2016. Known for his uncanny ability to navigate and call out pace notes with precision, he quickly became the go-to codriver for many top teams. His stint with Blick saw him climb the ladder of success, culminating in a 2nd place finish in the 2016 Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally. However, Bakunda had bigger dreams and set his sights on the driver’s seat.

Transition to Driver The switch from codriver to driver is a rare and daring leap, but for Unnisan Bakunda, it was a natural progression. He quickly made a name for himself, shaking up the rally scene with his aggressive driving style and sharp instincts. In 2018, he came tantalizingly close to clinching the National Rally Championship, finishing just shy of the top spot. But Bakunda is a man who doesn’t back down from a challenge, and he’s been gunning for the NRC title ever since.

2024 Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally For the 2024 edition of the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally, Bakunda has teamed up with Hussein Mukuye, another talented rally veteran.
