Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally 2024 Entry List Is Revealed

Jinja, Uganda-Rally enthusiasts across Uganda and beyond are buzzing with anticipation as the Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally announces its full house of competitors for the upcoming event. With a mix of local talent and foreign crews, this year’s rally promises high-octane action and fierce competition.

The Entry List

The entry list, revealed ahead of the official launch at the Kabira Country Club on Friday, features 35 teams, including 2 international crews and 5 registered ARC (African Rally Championship) crews. This year’s line-up showcases a thrilling mix of seasoned veterans and ambitious newcomers, all ready to tackle the challenging stages in and around Jinja.

Local Stars and ARC Contenders

Leading the charge among the local stars is Jas Mangat, paired with French co-driver Laurent Magat  in a powerful Hyundai I20. This dynamic duo has been a dominant force on Uganda’s rally scene, and they are eager to continue their winning streak. Close on their heels is the talented team of Ponsiano Lwakataka and Samuel Mugisha, driving a sleek Subaru Impreza N12B  renowned for its agility and speed.

Among the local ARC registered crews, we find the formidable Micheal Mukula Jr and Edward Kiyingi, piloting a Subaru Impreza . Their participation adds an extra layer of excitement, They will face stiff competition from their peers, including Moustapha Mukasa and Lawrence Mwambazi, who will be unleashing their Mitsubishi Evo9 with precision and power.

Foreign Crews and Dark Horses

The international presence is equally thrilling, with two foreign crews bringing their expertise to the Ugandan terrain. Karan Patel and Tauseef Khan, driving a cutting-edge Skoda Fabia R5, are set to bring international flair to the event. Their experience in various international rallies will test the local teams’ mettle. Another notable mention is the team of Hamza Anwar. and Adnan Din, who have impressed in previous events and this time will be armed with a Ford Fiesta R5.

Meanwhile, several dark horses are ready to shake up the competition. John Consta and Aaron Nsamba in their Ford Fiesta Proto are expected to deliver a strong performance, while Ronald Sebuguzi and Anthony Mugambwa in their Ford fiesta Proto have the potential to surprise everyone with their speed and skill.

The official launch on Friday, May 4th, at the Kabira Country Club will set the stage for the main event, which kicks off in Jinja next week.
