The rally action is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. tomorrow with a 6-kilometer free practice stage, serving as both a warm-up and a qualifying round for the six African Rally Championship (ARC) crews. Following this, the crews will head to Bujagali at noon for the shakedown, where all participating teams will test their vehicles’ setups and get a feel for the terrain before the competitive stages begin on Saturday morning.

Despite the dry and sunny conditions during the preparations, the weather forecast predicts a wet and rainy weekend, adding an extra layer of challenge to the already tight and twisty routes. These conditions are likely to test the skills and adaptability of the drivers and their teams, making for a potentially unpredictable and exciting event.

Among the crews that successfully passed scrutineering today were several fan-favorites and experienced rally veterans. Jas Mangat, a well-known figure in the Ugandan rally scene, will be seeking to add another victory to his name. Meanwhile, Karan Patel and Hamza Anwar, both from Kenya, are aiming to make their mark in this year’s championship. Other notable drivers include Mike Mukula Jr, Peter Kalule, Ronald Sebuguzi, and a host of other skilled participants, each hoping to emerge as the winners in this challenging competition.

The routes for this year’s rally will be similar to those used in the previous edition, with a mix of fast straights and technical corners that require precision and nerve. Rain is expected to complicate the racing conditions, making tire choice and vehicle setup critical for success.

As the crews completed their final preparations, excitement built among spectators and rally enthusiasts. Many fans have traveled from across the region to witness the event, eager to see who will come out on top. Local businesses and vendors around the rally area have also been preparing for a busy weekend, expecting a boost in activity from the influx of visitors.
