CO-DRIVER PROFILE
Name: Steven Bunya
Nickname: Stingo
Co-driver to: Nasser Mutebi
Car: Mitsubishi EvoX
Team: Nash Rally team
When it comes to rallying in Uganda, Steven “Stingo” Bunya is proof that the best co-drivers come with a good set of pace notes and a better sense of humor. Known far and wide for his endless jokes, Stingo can turn even the tensest service park into a comedy club.
Inside the cockpit, Bunya is the guy dropping classic jokes like:
1. “If the pace notes say caution, it means start praying!”
2. “That bump wasn’t on the notes — I’m suing Mother Nature!”
3. “Short left, long story if you miss it!”
5. “Flat out or flat broke — choose wisely!”
Yet behind all the jokes is a rock-solid professional. Calm, approachable, and incredibly experienced, Steven is one of Uganda’s true seasoned co-drivers. Over the years, he’s expertly navigated many top drivers to success, with his current partnership with Nasser Mutebi being one of the most consistent stacking up podium finishes like trophies at a comedy roast.

This year, for the Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally, Bunya stays true to the Nashl Rally Team. Now backed with a fresh Mitsubishi Evo X upgrade, the duo is out to mix business with pleasure delivering serious pace while probably shouting things like:
- “Tight left ahead — tighter than my wallet after a rally!”
At the heart of it all, Bunya reminds everyone that while rallying is about speed and precision, it’s also about enjoying the ride. When Stingo is in the car, the team doesn’t just chase NRC points they chase laughter, memories, and the ultimate rallying spirit.
Because with Steven Bunya, you don’t just survive the stages you survive them laughing!
