Calm, composed, and quietly determined that’s Aine Sodo for you. But don’t let the laid-back demeanor fool you; once he’s behind the wheel of his Mitsubishi Evo X, it’s like a switch flips. Some say he drives like the car owes him money.
Towards the end of last year, Sodo upgraded his arsenal with a freshly acquired Evo X from Kenya. He’s still getting to know the machine currently in the “it’s complicated” phase of their relationship but give him three more rallies, and he’ll be speaking fluent Evo.
For 2025, Sodo has registered to compete in the African Rally Championship, aiming to make his mark on the continental stage. The Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally, however, hasn’t been too kind to him in past editions DNFs have been the unwanted theme. But this year, he’s teaming up with seasoned co-driver Asuman Mohammed, whose experience might just be the missing ingredient.
Their mission? Simple and clear: finish the rally safely and finally bag those elusive ARC points. The plan is solid, the car is ready, and if the rally gods behave, Sodo might just turn history into headlines.
