Walter Kibande is currently sitting comfortably at the top of the Clubman Rally Championship (CRC) standings after two rounds and he’s not planning to give up that seat any time soon. Once known for lighting up the streets with drifting moves that had bystanders holding their breath, Kibande made the bold switch to competitive rallying and so far, it’s paying off.
Now behind the wheel of a Subaru GC8 that he drives like it owes him money, Kibande has shown he means business. His co-driver, Duncan Katumba recognizable by his dreadlocks and famously sharp corner calls (“corner lya busungu” ) has become the perfect match for Kibande’s aggressive style and unshakable focus.

The duo is set to make their Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally debut, and while they may be new to this particular battlefield, they’re arriving with one goal: to finish strong and collect critical CRC points. With their eyes on the championship title, the crew plans to keep their pace high, their notes sharp, and their jokes for after the flying finish.
Their strategy? Keep it fast, keep it clean, and above all—keep the GC8 on the road.
